NICA is a small non-profit organization dedicated to helping small businesses take on issues
to daunting, complex or expensive to take on by themselves. We pool the resources of our members to provide easy to use compliance and training tools, such as our Small Business Basics book, Safety Calendar, and other training programs with give you real world, simple solultions for regulations and requirements so you can get to work. NICA PROVIDES CERTIFIED LEAD RENOVATOR TRAINING FOR EPA AND WASHINGTON STATE'S DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE'S RENOVATION, REPAIR AND PAINTING RULE (LEAD RRP)
EPA requires all contractors who work in housing, child-care facilities and schools built before 1978 must use "lead-safe work practices" and become a Certified Renovator. Washington State Department of Commerce took over the program March 22, 2011 and is enforcing the training and lead safe work practice rules. The fines hurt: Up to $10,000 for each violation!
Become a EPA certified Renovator by first attending an 8 hour course and then register your firm with Washington State. The cost of Firm and Renovator registrations are included in NICA's Certified Renovator Classes! Also, get a free Safety Plan for Residential Contractors with your class.
